“Rodenticide in the Food Web” Talk w/VINS Director

Friday, October 3, 2025 - 5:00pm to 7:00pm10/03/2025 9:00pm “Rodenticide in the Food Web” Talk w/VINS Director Are there "safe" chemical rodenticides? How do mouse and rat poisons interact with wildlife in the ecosystem? Join Anna Morris from Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) to learn about the ripple effects of rodenticides in the food web and the sustainable alternatives to controlling rodent populations in and around our homes. This is a FREE educational event about rodenticides and their impacts on ecosystems. There will be live music from former VT Representative Bobby Farlice-Rubio's band Tritium Well, with cider and donuts at 5pm, followed by Anna's presentation at 6pm with a Q&A afterward. Email akane@fairbanksmuseum.org to register Anna's Bio: Anna's passion for birds of prey was first kindled at The Raptor Trust's wildlife rehabilitation facility in Millington, NJ, where she volunteered and worked starting in 2009. After training with Cornell's Raptor Program through college, she completed a graduate degree in Raptor Biology at Boise State University, studying the social behavior of Striated Caracaras in the Falkland Islands. Today, she oversees the team of raptor education ambassadors at VINS, prioritizing welfare, choice, and natural history in their care and training. In 2018 she became a Certified Professional Bird Trainer through the International Animal Trainers Certification Board, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators.
