Immersive Audio Visual Experience w/ Dragonchild May 2

Saturday, May 2, 2026 - 6:00pm to 9:00pm05/02/2026 10:00pm Immersive Audio Visual Experience w/ Dragonchild May 2 DA Mekonnen's experimental jazz project dragonchild presents the Vermont debut of "BLACK": an immersive, multimedia spatial sound performance. Conceived & transmitted by DA Mekonnen (founder of Debo Band), dragonchild draws on decades of musical experimentation, embodied spiritual practice, & critical thinking—culminating in their debut work, BLACK. In this innovative listening experience, four one-sided vinyl records will be played simultaneously to create an immersive swarm of sound using an eight-speaker playback system. BLACK is inspired by Alice "Turiya" Coltrane's text, Monument Eternal, & expands on her ideas around Universal Consciousness by guiding the listener to create a space for a shared, communal experience. BLACK will be presented along with visuals of Ethiopia's volcanic lake Erta Ale from photographer Michael Tsegaye.
