Bluegrass Brunch with Music, Food, Bikes and a Workshop

Sunday, July 26, 2026 - 10:00am to 4:30pm07/26/2026 2:00pm Bluegrass Brunch with Music, Food, Bikes and a Workshop Join us at the Braintree Hill Meetinghouse this Sunday, July 26th for Bluegrass Brunch, featuring a special songwriting workshop with Red Skies! - 10 AM Morning bike ride with Ridgeline Outdoor Collective - 11 AM Gates Open - 12 PM Live music with Red Skies and Ben Kogen Band from 12-3 PM - 3:30 PM Tune and Lyric Writing Workshop Food will be available throughout the event as part of a fundraiser for Chandler Center for the Arts. Chandler is accepting donations of prepared foods including baked goods, sandwiches, salads, or other brunch items. Bent Hill Brewery will serve adult beverages. Red Skies brings together four of New England's most talented bluegrass musicians into one powerhouse band. Joe K. Walsh, BB Bowness, Alex Rubin and Steve Roy have made careers out of playing acoustic string-band and bluegrass music at the highest level all over the world. At 3:30 PM, Red Skies will lead a special songwriting workshop, running alongside a lyric writing workshop, both concluding at 4:30 PM. Participants are welcome to bring their own instrument, though none is required — attendees can choose whichever workshop best fits their interests, whether crafting a melody or focusing on lyrics and storytelling. This hands-on session offers a rare chance to learn directly from touring professional musicians in an intimate, welcoming setting. The Ben Kogan Band blends Americana, roots rock, and singer-songwriter soul, led by multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Ben Kogan. A graduate of the University of Miami's Jazz Bass program, Kogan performed for two years in Boston before relocating to the Upper Valley in 2021. This special trio performance features Ben Kogan on vocals, upright bass, and guitar, alongside Marc Edwards on guitar and vocals, and Jen Friese on fiddle and vocals. Fun for the whole family with activities for kids.
