Gallery Opening + Classical Concert at Chandler May 24

Saturday, May 24, 2025 - 5:00pm to 9:00pm05/24/2025 9:00pm Gallery Opening + Classical Concert at Chandler May 24 Chandler Gallery's annual area artist show titled "Light and Shadow" is set to open this Saturday, May 24th with a reception from 5-7 PM. A free classical recital will follow at 7 PM. This year's area artist show features work from over 40 skilled local artists of photography, painting, fiber arts, textiles, drawing, video, and sculpture. The theme will explore the dynamic interplay between light and dark, both in the physical world and within the human experience. Saturday's reception will offer refreshments with many of the artists present to discuss their work. Following the art reception at 7 PM, young classical musicians from middle and high schools throughout Vermont and the Upper Valley will share their artistry in Chandler's annual youth concert, inspired by National Public Radio's From the Top program. For this performance, the area's leading music teachers recommend students who deserve special recognition. Students performing works from the Baroque and Classical periods, into contemporary classical music: Luke Murphy, cello. Montpelier Anna Dauerman, flute. Shelburne Alice Breen, flute.
