Important Voter Info for Orange County VT Senate Race

Tuesday, August 11, 2026 - 7:00am to 7:00pm08/11/2026 11:00am Important Voter Info for Orange County VT Senate Race ORANGE COUNTY VOTERS: DID YOU KNOW?! There is a contested Democratic Primary race for your State Senate seat on August 11th *AND* Early Voting starts this Saturday, June 27th! WHY SHOULD YOU CARE? Representation matters. There are only 30 State Senators and they each have more independent influence (and get lobbied harder) than our 150 House Representatives. In the case of Orange County, the State Senate seat represents nearly all towns in the county (13 of the 17). WHAT ARE THE DISTRICT TOWNS? The Orange County Senate District includes the following Orange County towns: Bradford, Brookfield, Chelsea, Corinth, Fairlee, Randolph, Strafford, Topsham, Tunbridge, Vershire, Washington, West Fairlee, and Williamstown. WHAT HAPPENS IN THE PRIMARY (AUGUST 11)? A primary is how a political party picks its nominee. You don't have to belong to a party to vote in its primary, any registered voter can take part. You'll just ask for that party's ballot when you vote. Whoever gets the most votes in the Primary moves on to the General Election in November. Only one Democratic candidate will get through this round. WHO ARE YOUR PRIMARY CANDIDATES? Monique Priestley (D) & Current Rep. ORA-2 (4 Yrs) - https://priestleyvt.com Rose Lucenti (D) - https://rosefororange.com John Benson (R) & Current Senator (1 Yr) - https://bensonforvtsenate.com KEY DATES AT A GLANCE JUN 27: Primary Early Voting Starts AUG 10: Last Day to Request Mail-In Ballot AUG 11: PRIMARY ELECTION DAY!
