The Next Generation: Classical Showcase at Chandler

Saturday, May 16, 2026 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm05/16/2026 11:00pm The Next Generation: Classical Showcase at Chandler Each spring, Chandler Center for the Arts opens its stage to some of the most gifted young musicians in the region—and this year is no exception. The series has its roots in a landmark 2007 event, when pianist Christopher O'Riley brought his celebrated NPR "From the Top" program to Chandler as part of the center's centennial celebration. The performance generated tremendous enthusiasm, and led by Janet Watton Chandler has self-produced a similar event each year since. This year's program promises something for every classical music lover. Solo performances will highlight the breadth of talent among the region's young musicians, and the evening will culminate in a special closing piece by a 15-member ensemble from Upper Valley Music Center. Admission is free, with donations toward Chandler's youth programming welcome. The concert will be followed by a complimentary reception, featuring homemade treats, at which audience members will have a chance to meet with and congratulate the young performers. The 2026 program includes works by: Frédéric Chopin (1810-849) Max Bruch (1838-1920) Franz Schubert ( 1797-1828) Tommaso Giordani ( (1730–1806) J.S. Bach (1685-750) W. H . Squire (1871-1963 A.E. Getry (1741-1813) Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) Will Ogmundson (1977) Edvard Grieg (1843-1907) Chandler Music Hall ~ Chandler Center for the Arts, 71 North Main Street, Randolph, VT RACDC info@racdc.com America/New_York public
