Full programming calendar visit, whiterivercraftcenter.org Shearling Slipper Making Saturday, Nov 2 12-4pm Come join us for a cozy afternoon of crafting your very own sheepskin slippers from scratch! In this 4 hour workshop, you will learn how to make a pair of handmade wool sheepskin (AKA shearling) slippers from start to finish. No previous experience is necessary, and we will provide all materials and supplies. Birch Bark Ornaments Saturday, Dec 14 1-5pm Utilizing techniques common to the Scandinavian and Russian style of basketry, you will craft birds and stars using strips of inner bark from the paper birch tree. Included is a discussion on how these materials are harvested and prepared. Each person will leave with three ornaments. Enjoy the simple pleasure of creating a decoration or gift from materials responsibly harvested on the instructor's Northeast Kingdom farm!
